This
a three room facility in Colchester Vermont, USA.
It is being designed by Fran Manzella of FMdesign
Checkout Egan 4 if
you missed it.
This
shot is is taken from the vestibule looking into Control Room
A. The outboard rack is in the foreground. In the shot you
can see the mixing board (a D&R Cinemix 5.1 console with moving
fader automation and dynamics) and the Pro Tools HUI cart.
The autolocator is for the Alesis M20 ADATs. Far to the right
you can see the edge of the Sony/MCI JH-24 analog deck. You
can also see the main soffit mounted speakers in the front
wall and the right surround speaker mounted in the flanking
wall.

This
shot is of control room A looking over the console toward
the back of the room. The rear wall is comprised of pre fabricated
RPG Diffractal diffusors flanked by tuned helmholtz slat resonators.
The RPGs diffuse the reflected sound to minimize direct reflections.
The slat resonators control low frequency decay

The
next photos show the live end and the dead end in the live
room. The room is divided roughly in half with one side being
birch panels and the other being fabric covered Owens Corning
703 fiberglass. We left the concrete slab as the finished
floor. It was stained using a product made by the Kemiko company
and was then waxed and polished. It was very cost effective
and looks great. Area rugs can be placed to accentuate or
minimize its acoustically reflective qualities.

Cheers
