Ok, I fixed the walls. Again, I plan to mount on resilient channels directly against the roof studs. Plan to go with two layers of 5/8" drywall with green glue between. Hoping that will get me up to 55 STC.

How's it look now?

The rear of the control room looks much better now.

But the two rooms are still coupled.

Circled in blue: those two walls have to go. They are creating flanking paths between the live room and control room. They must be two independent rooms, if you want isolation. No flanking paths at all.
